Step back in time and discover life in old Louisiana at The Walker Museum. The museum is home to a vast collection of artifacts documenting South Louisiana's rich history, including items from the old general merchandise store, the original blades from the saw mill, the sales window and postal boxes from the first post office, old farm equipment, tools and more. Browse hundreds of photographs documenting life in South Louisiana, and hear Walker's oldest families share animated stories of how the town came to be. And don't miss our Community Art Gallery, with its exhibits featuring the works of some of Livingston Parish's most gifted artists.

A new exhibit at The Walker Museum called 'Honoring Those Who Serve' is a unique collection of historical military memorabilia. The exhibit contains items from all four branches of our armed forces, on loan from generous families throughout South Louisiana. See treasures from the military in action at war and in peace throughout history, including uniforms, weapons, enlistment posters, shell casings, flags, medals of honor, photographs and more. The exhibit is made possible in part through a grant from the Livingston Parish Convention & Visitors Bureau.
